WHAT TO WEAR FOR YOUR BOUDOIR PHOTOSHOOT

Masculine

SO YOU’VE BOOKED YOUR BOUDOIR PHOTOSHOOT…

NOW WHAT SHOULD YOU WEAR?

First thing’s first — just like with any boudoir shoot, there’s no one “right” outfit. This session is about you, feeling confident, relaxed and looking undeniably good. Whether you’re planning this as a gift, a confidence boost, or something sexy and personal, your wardrobe should reflect that.

Tips before we dive in

Try on a few options before the shoot and check how they make you feel — confident, powerful, comfortable?
Think movement — can you pose in it?
Aim for 2–3 different looks to give you variety in your gallery.

The Classics: Suit and Layers

There’s something timeless and effortlessly sexy about a sharp jacket draped over bare skin.
You can keep the look polished and masculine, or roll the sleeves up and go a little more relaxed.

Go classic with black or charcoal
Or add texture with tweed, linen or even velvet depending on the vibe you want
Wear it with nothing underneath for that bold, confident look

This works beautifully with casual poses and can be styled with simple props, like a chair or a tie.

Layers: soft, sexy, simple

Layers aren’t just for feminine boudoir… they’re brilliant for masculine too. They add depth, texture and interest to your images, and they give me as your photographer more to work with.

Here are some great layering ideas:

Button-down shirt. Leave it unbuttoned, pop a couple of buttons open, roll the sleeves – this look is classic, intimate and effortlessly sexy.
Leather jacket. Instant edge. Whether you wear it on or off, it adds attitude and shape. Perfect for a more relaxed vibe. Slightly undone, with a few buttons open and sleeves pushed up, it’s suggestive without being over the top.

Layers let you reveal or conceal as you go through your session — and that’s what creates variability in your final gallery.

Underwear: Keep it Simple

Let’s be clear: you absolutely can go minimal if that’s your vibe. A great pair of black boxers or fitted briefs gives a sleek silhouette… and because black photographs so well, it’s a fail-safe choice.

Quick tips:
Black boxers = timeless, clean, bold
Fitted briefs = classic, masculine lines
Avoid loud logos and neon colours – they distract from you

This is boudoir, but you don’t need complicated – confidence speaks louder than patterns.

Going beyond clothes

Sometimes the simplest shots – just you – are the most powerful.

If you’re comfortable, a shot with no top at all can be striking and high impact – think clean lines, skin tones, shadows and light.

Accessories That Work
A tie — draped or loose
 A belt — subtly undone
 A hat — if that’s your style

They’re small details but they add personality and tell your story.

Please note: although I am willing to capture art nude photography, I work within an artistic and tasteful context. My focus is on creating images that celebrate form and expression, and I maintain specific boundaries to ensure the work aligns with my vision and style.  I DO NOT photograph explicit content or overtly sexual imagery, as my approach prioritises artistry and aesthetics.

Final Word

Your boudoir shoot isn’t about perfection. It’s about confidence, comfort, and capturing you at your best. Think through what makes you feel strong and sexy, bring a couple of options (no more than three), and trust me to guide you through the rest.

Whether it’s a tailored suit jacket over bare skin, simple black boxers, a favourite shirt or something deeper from your wardrobe, the goal is the same: you feeling amazing.

Bonus Tip…

Bring your outfits on hangers if possible and arrive wearing something loose to avoid marks on the skin. Most importantly, choose clothes that make you feel confident. Ready to wear what makes you feel unstoppable?
